LibreSync 0.2.0 (preview) Pre-release
released this
2026-10-16 15:57:07 +01:00 | 44 commits to main since this releaseConnect to your LibrePortal with one address, and pair a phone with a code
LibreSync 0.2.0 talks to LibrePortal's own shared folders (LibrePortal 0.10.0 or later).
Getting started
- Type your LibrePortal's address, like
libreportal.example.orgor192.168.1.10:3673, and tap Continue. LibreSync works out the rest. - Sign in with LibrePortal where your server offers it, or pair with the code your admin shows under Admin, Shared folders, Add a phone. Scanning the code sets the phone up in one step, and on a home server it also vouches for the server's own certificate, so there is nothing to confirm.
- "What we found" lists the folders shared with you, already ticked: music and videos come down into the phone's Music and Movies folders, photos go up from the camera when you switch them on. One Start button.
- An admin who signs in on a server with no shared folders yet can turn them on from the phone, and the phone is added straight after.
- When LibrePortal is busy, LibreSync shows "Connecting…" and waits for it rather than giving up. If it takes too long, it asks for a new code.
- ownCloud and Nextcloud still work as before, and can be added as extra sources.
Safer by default
- A server at home with its own certificate is trusted only after you say it is yours, and LibreSync warns you if it ever changes.
- Before syncing over a connection that isn't private, LibreSync asks you to say "I understand".
- Each phone has its own key. If it is removed in LibrePortal, the phone says so and stops syncing; sign in again and it carries on where it was. Settings has "Disconnect this phone".
Smaller things
- LibreSync picks the address that works from where you are: home, the VPN, or anywhere.
- Home shows each source as its own section, with Add another source.
- Folders shared with you later appear by themselves.
- The update card now shows before you sign in too, and a refused update no longer sticks.
Nothing is ever deleted on your server.

LibreSync 0.1.1 (preview) Pre-release
released this
2026-10-16 10:33:49 +01:00 | 46 commits to main since this releaseTells you when a new version is out, and updates in one tap
Early preview for testing. LibreSync now looks for a new version when it starts and now and then in the background. When one is out, Home shows "Update available": tap Update and LibreSync downloads it, checks it is whole and genuinely from us, and hands it to Android to install. "Later" hides it until the next version. Settings shows your version, a "Check now" button and a switch to turn the checks off.
Phones on 0.1.0 do not have this yet: install 0.1.1 from this page once, and later versions arrive in one tap.
Needs Android 8 or newer. Check the download against

LibreSync 0.1.0 (preview) Pre-release
released this
2026-10-16 05:40:46 +01:00 | 48 commits to main since this releaseEarly preview for testing. Expect rough edges; please report anything odd.
LibreSync keeps folders on your LibrePortal server and your Android phone in step. Music and videos come down into the phone's Music and Movies folders, where every player can see them; photos from your camera go up to the server. Nothing is ever deleted on your server.
- Sign in with LibrePortal: enter your server's address (or scan the QR code from the WebUI) and sign in with your LibrePortal account. Nextcloud and app-password sign-in are under "Other ways to sign in".
- Shared folders: your LibrePortal shared folders are listed first, and several folders can sync at once.
- Syncs on Wi-Fi by default, can wait for charging, resumes after a stop and stops before the phone is full.
- Works on a plain
http://ip:portaddress over your LAN or VPN.
