LibreSync 0.2.0 talks to LibrePortal's own shared folders (LibrePortal 0.10.0 or later).
Getting started
- Type your LibrePortal's address, like
libreportal.example.orgor192.168.1.10:3673, and tap Continue. LibreSync works out the rest. - Sign in with LibrePortal where your server offers it, or pair with the code your admin shows under Admin, Shared folders, Add a phone. Scanning the code sets the phone up in one step, and on a home server it also vouches for the server's own certificate, so there is nothing to confirm.
- "What we found" lists the folders shared with you, already ticked: music and videos come down into the phone's Music and Movies folders, photos go up from the camera when you switch them on. One Start button.
- An admin who signs in on a server with no shared folders yet can turn them on from the phone, and the phone is added straight after.
- When LibrePortal is busy, LibreSync shows "Connecting…" and waits for it rather than giving up. If it takes too long, it asks for a new code.
- ownCloud and Nextcloud still work as before, and can be added as extra sources.
Safer by default
- A server at home with its own certificate is trusted only after you say it is yours, and LibreSync warns you if it ever changes.
- Before syncing over a connection that isn't private, LibreSync asks you to say "I understand".
- Each phone has its own key. If it is removed in LibrePortal, the phone says so and stops syncing; sign in again and it carries on where it was. Settings has "Disconnect this phone".
Smaller things
- LibreSync picks the address that works from where you are: home, the VPN, or anywhere.
- Home shows each source as its own section, with Add another source.
- Folders shared with you later appear by themselves.
- The update card now shows before you sign in too, and a refused update no longer sticks.
Nothing is ever deleted on your server.
